Whenever you visit us for your dental checkup, we examine your teeth for any issues and give them a nice clean. The dental examination part of your checkup involves checking for any plaque or tartar on your teeth and checking your gums to make sure they are healthy. The cleaning part of your dental checkup involves scaling (removing tartar from your teeth using specialised tools) and polishing to remove any stains on your teeth.

How often should I go to the dentist?

You should consult your dentist about this, but as a rule of thumb twice or three times a year is recommended for most people that maintain their teeth regularly. If you feel any tooth pain, you should also consider booking a dental checkup appointment before it gets worse.

 

How do I keep my teeth safe between dental checkups?

  • Brush twice a day.
  • Use toothpaste that contains fluoride.
  • Floss daily.
  • Use mouthwash regularly.
  • Wear your night guard or mouthpiece as recommended by your dentist.
